Taking courses elsewhereTaking courses elsewhereTo take a course at another institution, students should make sure before they attempt a coursethat it will transfer by completing the following three steps:1. Contact the college or university that they would like to attend to determine what courseswill be offered.2. Obtain and complete this form, which also is available from 212 Hancock Hall. This formshould be completed at least 3 weeks before the beginning of the classes at the non-VTinstitution. If the course to be transferred is a CS course, the Dean's Office may refer youto the CS Department, which will require you to supply a course syllabus (not just thecatalog description of the course) before the transfer request is evaluated. Make sure thecourse will transfer as you think it will.3.
