WHEREAS, the Board of School Directors desires to authorize its Construction Consultants,Architect, Solicitor, Financial Advisor, and Bond Counsel to take certain action with respect tothe Project; andWHEREAS, the School District proposes to adopt a maximum project cost and a maximumbuilding construction cost for the Project.NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of School Directors of the Reading SchoolDistrict, as follows:1. The District hereby authorizes and directs a public hearing to be held in connection withthe Project, in accordance with, and in compliance with the requirements of the SchoolCode and regulations there under, at 800 Washington Street, Reading, PA, 19601, in theBoard Room of the District Administration Office on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at5:30 P.M. prevailing time to provide information to the residents of the District.2. The Secretary of the Board of Directors is hereby authorized and directed to advertisethe Notice of Public Hearing as substantially set forth in Exhibit “A” which is attachedhereto and made a part hereof, in accordance with the requirements of the School Code.3. The School District authorizes a “Maximum Project Cost” of Twenty Nine Million FiveHundred Sixteen Thousand Ninety Dollars ($29,516,090.00) and a “Maximum BuildingConstruction Cost” of Ten Million Seven Hundred Seventy Thousand Nine HundredEighty Seven Dollars ($10, 770,987.00) in connection with the Project.4. The Board of School Directors of this School District hereby authorizes and approvespresentation of a description of the Project in accordance with prior decisions of thisBoard and, upon approval thereof by the architect, consultants, Solicitor andSuperintendent hereby directs the Secretary of the Board to make copies of suchdescription of the project available to interested citizens requesting the same at the placeand during the reasonable hours stated in the Notice of the Public Hearings and toforward project descriptions to the news media in accordance with law.5. The Secretary is directed to make financial information with respect to the Projectavailable for inspection by interested citizens requesting such inspection at the office ofthe Secretary of the School District.6. The District approves, ratifies, and confirms all action heretofore taken in connectionwith the project, and7. The proper officers of the Board and the District Administration are hereby authorizedand directed to execute any and all papers and documents and to do or cause to be doneany and all acts and things necessary of proper for the execution of carrying out of theseresolutions.33
