The first two paragraphs below in bold italics iswhere we left off last issue. Here’s where we left off in ourlast issueAll I could think about is, what is shedoing right now, what city is she in, howclose is Debbie and Jas, again, I guess I’llnever know. The phone rang, it was Ray fromGoodchilds, Guess who was in yesterday forlunch with 12 people? I don’t know, who? Itwas that Blues musician that was playing inHalifax last night, I have a message for you,Debbie told me to tell you….………..that is was SO great to see you at theLegion that night and to apologize for having toleave so quickly. She said that it felt so wonderfulto see me again and that it had percolatedback some of the feelings she had for me whenwe were in high school. She said that there wasso much left to say and that she wanted to gettogether again as soon as she was back in town!!I was ecstatic. Confused, but ecstatic. Whatcaused her to leave early that night? Who wasJimmy? What is the Jas connection? When is shecoming back? Have I lost my mind? I dunno, but all I knew is that I was giggling out loud likeI was 16 years old.I needed to get a grip on this whole thingand get some perspective back so, what to do!Bang, it was obvious; I needed to get to The OldOrchard Inn & Spa in the Annapolis Valley! Aweekend there was exactly what I needed………one of those gorgeous rooms, dinner in TheBlomidon dining room and a 60 minute deepmassage is exactly what this old boy needs.Where’s the phone?Well, my weekend is planned so I best getready and head off to work. No time for coffee,I can always drop by the Cider Press Cafe for thatgorgeous smell of their desserts and the kick inthe pants that only caffeine can do for me. Iclimbed into my car, turned the key and “click”.Huh, let’s try that again I said. So I just turn thekey to start the car and “click”. Oh no, pleasenot now, I got things to do today!!!! I dreadedthis day but thank goodness I remembered thefine folks at Gould’s Auto. I know I need a towat this point and at the rate this day is going, maybe I need a replacement vehicle as well!At least my cellphone works, hey where is thatthing? Left it in the house……..arghhhh!!!But wayda minute, I have the message lightflashing on my cellphone. Please, not anotherobstacle for the day! And there my day shiftedas it was a message from Debbie, what a fabulousvoice indeed. She was going to be back intown and wondered, even if at the last minute,if I’d have some time to spend together thisevening. Are you kidding me???...........I’d putQueen Elizabeth on hold for this!!! Oh boy, ohboy, oh boy, oh boy, this is gonna be GREAT!!We are SO going to the Digby Pines for a veryimpressive dinner at Churchill’s. Geez, I gottaget a new suit! Dang, I don’t even have a carthat works!!As she approached the end of her message, she asked if it was ok if she brought along hergood friend Jas. I’m perplexed. That weekendmassage can’t come soon enough……………Tune in next month to findout where this is all going!Remember you can write thenext 500 words!I would like to thank the famous Jas Malcolm fortaking the time to send us this submission.
