The facets, when arranged in preciseproportions, will maximize reection, refraction and “life” of a diamond.A well-cut diamond will be higher in quality and value as diamonds that are cut too deepor too shallow lose light, resulting in less brilliance and a less valuable stone.Shallow Ideal DeepWhen providing a classication of cut quality, a diamond’s “nish” is also taken intoconsideration.
