(iv)The Teachers / Instructors will be engaged for six months initially and after expiry ofthat period he / she may be engaged again if needed after 2/3 days break for a period ofanother six months and may be continued in similar way .(II)Eligibility Criteria:Qualification for the contractual Teachers/ Trainers/ Instructors will be the same as stipulatedin this department order no 179-TET(Poly) dated 22.2.2006 for the part-time vocationalTeachers/ Instructors ( please see item no 1 in this summary ).4. Admissibility of number of post of Contractual Teachers/ Contractual Instructors to beengaged in affiliated Vocational Training Centres (VTC) and prescribed qualificationRef. G. O. No.78(2)- TET(POLY.)/5C-18/2006 Dated. Kol.6 th February, 2007A. Admissibility of number of post of Contractual Teacher/ Instructor for X+2 Level courses.1) Irrespective of disciplines, affiliated to any Institute, “Introduction to Computer” iscompulsory subject for each Vocational Training Centres. One post of Contractual teacheron this subject is allotted to every Institute. Qualification of such Contractual Teachershould be Graduate Engineer / 3 years’ Diploma with 1 st Class / or any other Diploma likeM.C.A., B.C.A. , or P.D.C.A. on Computer from any Institute accreditted to a University /Council.2) For Vocational set of subjects (one set consisting of Vocational Paper- I and VocationalPaper- II) in any discipline (not more than three sets of Vocational subjects affiliated to aVocational Trg. Centre from 2 disciplines) two posts of Contractual Teachers per set ofVocational subjects, but not more than three Contractual Teachers when two sets ofVocational papers are affiliated from one discipline, may be allotted to a VocationalTraining Centre.3) For the rest of the Vocational subjects from the other discipline two posts of ContractualTeachers for that set of Vocational subjects are allotted.(Example: Institute ‘A’ having offered two sets of Vocational subjects for ET and one fromHS are allotted 3 (for ET) + 2 for HS or the Vice Versa, maximum Contractual Teachersnot exceeding 5 are allotted for Institute ‘A’ ). Similarly Institute ‘B’ having 2 sets ofVocational subjects from two sets of separate disciplines is entitled to have 2+2 i.e. 4Contractual Teachers @ 2 each on two sets of Vocational subjects. Again, Institute ‘C’offering only one set of Vocational subject is entitled to have 2 posts of ContractualTeachers on this subject. Qualification of the Contractual Teachers should be B.E. / 3Years’ Diploma with 1 st class/ or any other Diploma from any Institute accredited to aUniversity in the concerned field for subjects under ET discipline and Post Graduate /Hons.Graduate on appropriate field of study or graduate with special papers on the relatedsubject from the recognized University for other disciplines.3


4) For practical class in “Workshop Practice” envisaged for only ET discipline, three posts(one Contractual Instructor and two part time Instructors) one each for 3 trades are entitledto be allotted to an Institute. The Contractual Instructor, engaged for a particular tradeshould be authorized as Instructor – In – Charge of all the three Workshop practicalsessions. Qualification of the Instructors should be pass in NCVT affiliated Trade Coursesin relevant field or any recognized qualifications from University/ Council / Board etc. ( asthe case may be) in the appropriate branch of study and sutiable for the relevant course.5) For other subjects of general interest like communicative English, Bengali,Entrepreneurship, Environmental Science, Basic Science etc. teachers on part- time basiswill be engaged by a Vocational Training Centre if teachers on these subjects are notavailable from the existing pool. Qualification of the part time teachers should be HonoursGraduate/ Graduate with specialization on the related subject.This is to be noted in this connection that workload considered to be rational for theContractual Teachers / Contractual Instructors to be engaged should, however, be not lessthan 18 periods and not more than 30 periods per week.B. Admissibility of number of post of Contractual Teachers/ Instructors for VIII+ Levelcourses.1. a) One Contractual Instructor per trade not exceeding three as only three trades to themaximum are affiliated to a Vocational Training Centre, should be engaged by an Institute.Work-load of the Contractual Instructor should be restricted to conducting of practical classes of288 classes as per syllabus.b) For conducting teaching of theoretical part of a particular trade, part time/ visiting teachers maybe engaged as per syllabus.Qualifications for (a) should be passed in NCVT affiliated Trade Courses in relevant field or anyrecognized qualification from University / Council / Board etc. (as the case may be) in theappropriate branch of study and suitable for the relevant course.5.
