16 - Guest Artists And Production TeamMike Glussich(Lighting/Sound Designer)Mike’s lighting design work has been seen inmany theatres across Canada including TheatrePasse Muraille, the Arts Club, Seattle OperaCompany, Manitoba Theatre Centre and theNational Arts Centre.Maureen Cassidy(Director, Laundry and Bourbon)Maureen is a professional stage and televisionactor in the Toronto area and has appeared inover a hundred television commercials. Stagecredits include Sheila in An Inspector Calls(Sudbury Theatre Centre), Lulu in The LuluProject (Equity Showcase Theatre), and MissFischer in A Picasso. She has adjudicated andcreated acting workshops across Ontario forboth the International Thespian and the SearsDrama Festivals.Maureen has been part of the Theatre Artsfaculty at Canadore College for the past fiveyears teaching scene study and commercialauditioning.Directorial credits include scenes from A Doll’sHouse, The Importance of Being Ernest, andMiss Julie. In 2010 Maureen co-directed RodCarley’s Slam! She also directed Waiting forthe Parade for the Rep21 2012 season. She isa North Bay native and a graduate of the YorkUniversity Theatre Performance Program.He has collaborated with Rod on twenty-fiveprojects, including High Life, for which hereceived an Outstanding Award for LightingDesign at the 2002 QUONTA Festival as well asan Outstanding Contribution to a ProductionAward at the All Ontario Festival in Sarnia. Atpresent he is the Technical Director of theCapitol Centre and Lighting and Sound Designerfor Rep21 in North Bay. Mike was also TechnicalDirector for Nipissing Stage Company for fourseasons.Peggy Haskins(Costume Designer)Peggy loves to combine her sewing andcreative talents by making theatrical costumes.Past Rep21 credits include The Libertine (herproudest sewing endeavour), Farther West,and As Bees in Honey Drown, The Donnellys,Macbeth, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,Waiting for the Parade and Can You See MeYet?.She has contributed to many productions byGateway Theatre Guild, including Rod Carley’sadaptation of Henry V (recipient of OutstandingCostume Design Award at 2006 QUONTADrama Festival), Shadowlands, Private Lives,Elizabeth Rex, and A Streetcar Named Desire,and Nipissing Stage Company (The Tempest).Peggy wishes all the cast and crew a successfulrun.
Guest Artists And Production Team - 17Arndt von Holtzendorff(Co-Set Designer)Arndt has spent three seasons as Set Designerfor Rep 21 and has previously designed TheLibertine, The Altruists, Refuge, Popcorn,The Shape of Things, and Ancaster Park.Recent credits include A Picasso (Word ToastTransport) and Art (Sunset Players).Spencer King(Sound Technician)Spencer is no stranger to the stage. He hasbeen involved with theatre since he was a littleboy. His notable roles include David in I HearYou Ride Horses, Mr. Blonde in ReservoirDogs Nashe in Black Gardenias and Chrisin People Grieving. He also appeared inthe“D’artagnan Romances”: The ThreeMusketeers, The Four Musketeers and TheMan in the Iron Mask with J2 Productions,as well as Oliver! (Dreamcoat) and Talking toTerrorists (GTG).Spencer is also familiar with the technical sideof things, having worked as the lighting operatorfor Passage, Lighting and Sound Assistantat The Capitol Centre, and will be marking hisfifth year as Sound Technician and TechnicalAssistant for Rep21.Dilip Patel(Technical Director / Lighting Technician / CrewChief)Dilip has been with the Capitol Centre as alighting technician for the past six years. Lastyear he did the lighting set-up, and was thelighting operator for the majority of the shows atthe Capitol Centre. This is his seventh seasonworking with Rep21 as a lighting technician, andhis second season as Technical Director.He studied drama at York University andDesign at the National Theatre Schoolgraduating in 1988. During this time he wasArtistic Director for Unicorn Theatre, a summerstudent company in North Bay that ran forfive successful seasons. After graduation andthe last season of Unicorn, Arndt went on towork professionally in Toronto including JasonSherman’s A Place Like Pamela (directed byRod Carley), Falling Back Home, What TheButler Saw (Toronto French Theatre) and DerekGoldby’s production of The Father at theTarragon Theatre.Upon his return to North Bay, he has workedextensively with the Gateway Theatre Guild,including the award-winning Of Mice and Menas well as Dreamcoat, TOROS, and many othergroups. Arndt also served as Set Designer forNipissing Stage Company for three seasons.GTG design highlights include Waiting forGodot, Doubt, Girl in the Goldfish Bowl,Elizabeth Rex, Private Lives, Shadowlands,and A Streetcar Named Desire (which he alsodirected).Bill Whalley(Co-Set Designer/Set and Props Construction)Bill is a multi-skilled, self-employed carpenterand certified cabinet maker He is a CanadoreCollege graduate and former CanadoreCollege technologist. He also builds antiquereproductions. Previous set constructioncredits include the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Rep21seasons, Kids in the Hall: When Death Comesto Town, and Talking to Terrorists.
