In <strong>the</strong> City of North Bay, population 54,000, you can enjoy good<br />

Getting Around<br />
The City of North Bay provides regularly-scheduled bus service to<br />
our three local campuses, and all full-time students receive a bus<br />
pass for travel from September through April, <strong>the</strong> cost of which is<br />
included in <strong>the</strong>ir tuition.<br />

Outdoor Activity<br />
Our countless lakes, rivers, forests, canoe routes and trail systems<br />
provide endless outdoor activity including: camping, swimming,<br />
hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, and a variety of o<strong>the</strong>r sports.<br />
The City is nestled between two beautiful lakes, Lake Nipissing<br />
and Trout Lake, presenting limitless water recreation<br />
opportunities. We also have a number of golf courses, parks,<br />

Early Childhood Education Intensive<br />
One Year<br />
Get <strong>the</strong> skills you need to start a rewarding career working with children. This activity-based program is taught using a<br />
holistic approach in which <strong>the</strong> stages of a child’s developmental growth as well as cognitive skills and socio-emotional<br />
development are emphasized. You will also gain <strong>the</strong> expertise and abilities necessary to operate an early childhood<br />
centre. The program includes an outdoor environmental education component and a full-day kindergarten course.<br />
The placement component of this program offers you hands-on, real-world experience.<br />
Note: Graduates of any Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts program can complete this hands-on, intensive program in one year. Expand<br />
your knowledge and skill-set working in real-world settings. A 210-hour field placement gives you a practical application for your training with <strong>the</strong><br />

Strength and Sport Conditioning<br />
Flexible<br />
There is an increasing need for certified professionals in strength and sport conditioning. This specialized program,<br />
designed for athletes, coaches, or trainers who have experience in sport and fitness, will teach you <strong>the</strong> skills and<br />
techniques needed to help individual athletes or sports teams reach <strong>the</strong>ir maximum physical potential.<br />
Strength and sport conditioning is athletic training aimed at greater strength, power, speed, agility, coordination and<br />
balance. You will learn general exercise principles, nutrition, and sport-specific science, along with practical advanced<br />
training in weightlifting, agility, plyometrics, balance, and sprint training for athletes.<br />
