Shelli B. Fowler is director of the Graduate Education Development Institute
in Learning Technologies at Virginia Tech and associate professor of English.
Her research areas include critical pedagogy and the integration of teaching
and technologies, and she is the coeditor of Included in English Studies: Learning
Climates That Cultivate Racial and Ethnic Diversity. She is the recipient of
several department, college, and university teaching awards. Fowler earned
her doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin.
