Back of the Boat—The Whale Foundation News BulletinKenton Grua Memorial ScholarshipThe Whale Foundation is proud to announcethat Kristin Huisinga (azra) and Kent Wagner(CanX) are this year’s scholarship recipients.Kristin is continuing her Master Herbalist certificationprogram (see her article this issue) while Kentis starting at nau this <strong>fall</strong> semester with an interest inphoto journalism and film production. Congratulationsto the recipients and thank you to all applicants.The competition was especially high this year and thecommittee faced some difficult decisions.Support from the community has allowed theFoundation to award up to three $2,000 scholarshipsannually. We encourage all guides with at least fiveyears experience here in the <strong>Grand</strong> to apply. Grants areawarded to guides with traditional and non-traditionaleducational paths. All applications are blinded before arigorous review to insure impartiality. Both Ann-Marie and her husbandAdam have volunteered their time in the past,mostly helping with the Wing Ding.
