Coursework earned at a non-accredited institutionmay be submitted for review with an <strong>of</strong>ficial transcriptand course descriptions. Coursework earned atnon-accredited institutions will be considered on a case bycase basis by <strong>the</strong> Academic Dean. In most cases, refusal totransfer work will be based on content or academic standardsincompatible with <strong>the</strong> courses required for graduation at <strong>the</strong><strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>.Since <strong>the</strong> <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers a unifiedcurriculum in each <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 4 academic semesters andexists as a discipleship program requiring that all residentstudents maintain a full load <strong>of</strong> coursework each semester,students may transfer in only <strong>the</strong> number <strong>of</strong> courses thatwould enable <strong>the</strong>m to maintain a full load substituting <strong>the</strong>transferred courses with electives or video coursework.Students may also transfer in an entire semester’s worth<strong>of</strong> coursework or an entire year’s worth <strong>of</strong> coursework once<strong>the</strong> coursework has been evaluated by <strong>the</strong> Academic Dean.Graduates <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> must complete50% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work towards graduation at <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong><strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>.Transferring to O<strong>the</strong>r SchoolsDepending on <strong>the</strong> anticipated course <strong>of</strong> study and academicrecord, up to two years <strong>of</strong> credit is granted by most Christiancolleges. Among <strong>the</strong> schools that have granted credit forcoursework in <strong>the</strong> past at <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> are <strong>the</strong> following:Appalachian <strong>Bible</strong> College, Baptist <strong>Bible</strong> College <strong>of</strong> ClarksSummit, Calvary <strong>Bible</strong> College, Cedarville University,Christian Heritage College, Davis College, Grace College,Cornerstone University, Lancaster <strong>Bible</strong> College, LibertyUniversity, Moody <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>, Pensacola ChristianCollege, Cairn University, Piedmont Baptist College,Sou<strong>the</strong>astern College at Wake Forest, Tennessee TempleUniversity, The Masters College, Washington <strong>Bible</strong> Collegeand many o<strong>the</strong>rs. Fees for first year students include <strong>Bible</strong> studys<strong>of</strong>tware as well as most required books and all class notesin electronic form. Students are strongly encouraged tobring tablets or laptops to class for note-taking purposes.These must have a battery life exceeding five hours sinceclass size does not allow for power outlets. Paper notes areavailable for an additional fee <strong>of</strong> $80 per semester. Some12students may incur additional fees due to participation inspecialty ministry programs.<strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> bills students on <strong>the</strong> basis <strong>of</strong>2 semesters. The fall semester is billed in August and <strong>the</strong>spring semester is billed in January. All prices are subjectto change without notice.Payment SchedulePayments for <strong>the</strong> fall and spring semesters are due andpayable when <strong>the</strong> student registers for that semester.Students may use approved credit cards (VISA, MasterCard or Discover) to pay <strong>the</strong>ir school bills. Payment plansare available; please contact <strong>the</strong> Business Office for details.Financial AidThe New York and Florida teaching sites participate inFederal Title IV financial aid programs and are eligibleto process Pell Grants, Stafford Loans, Plus Loans, FederalWork Study and FSEOG federal assistance programs. The following scholarshipsare available for students who have participated in <strong>the</strong><strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> Club program: Teens Involved Internationalaward certificates and Cre8ive Discipleship certificates.Also, qualified students who have worked at a <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong><strong>Life</strong> Camp can apply for <strong>the</strong> Summer Training Corps (STC)Scholarship. Information concerningadditional scholarships, financial aid information, andapplications are available online at www.word<strong>of</strong>life.edu.<strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Bible</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers several scholarships eachyear to students who demonstrate spiritual maturity andleadership abilities. These scholarships are for <strong>the</strong> position<strong>of</strong> student leadership. Student Leaders are responsible foroverseeing student life in <strong>the</strong> dorms, for enforcing standardsand regulations, for supervising specific work assignments,and for assuming o<strong>the</strong>r leadership roles associated withcampus life.Scholarship funds are also made available for dependentchildren <strong>of</strong> parents who are full-time pastors or missionaries.<strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> is also approved for <strong>the</strong> training <strong>of</strong> veteransand dependents <strong>of</strong> disabled veterans. <strong>Word</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Life</strong> iseligible to participate in <strong>the</strong> Post-911program.Each student is expected to have completed arrangementsnecessary to meet any and all financial obligations byregistration. Grades are issued only to students whoseaccounts are paid in full. Diplomas and final transcriptsare not issued until all financial obligations have been met.Standards for academic progress must be maintained to beeligible for both federal and institutional aid.
