Students may sign up forhiking, mountain biking, sailing, horsemanship, bowling,advanced first aid and CPR, PE 101, weight training,snowboarding, skiing, and other activities.Practical Theology I PRTH216Discipleship: Ten lectures will emphasize the need forand techniques of directive Biblical counseling. It will alsodemonstrate the importance of one-on-one discipleship.Models of discipleship will be studied with practicalprinciples for discipleship in a local church structure.Leadership: This series of ten lectures starts with anexamination of Biblical leadership principles. These willbe applied to people management, time management, andteam building. The emphasis will be on how to developesprit de corps, staff loyalty, cooperation, and positiveattitudes for an atmosphere conducive to individual effort,creativity, and success.Prayer: Ten lectures will be devoted to an exegetical andtopical evaluation of the Bible’s teaching on prayer.31.5 clock hoursPractical Theology II PRTH217A, BOrganization and Administration of the LocalChurch: Twenty lectures will be taught by a pastor whohas firsthand knowledge of the structure, organization, andoperation of a local church. It will include a discussion ofthe role of pastors, elders, deacons, and lay leadership. Thevarious departments of the local church will be describedin relation to a chain of command and organizationalchart. The relationship of the Christian day school to theyouth program of the church will be considered. Duringthe second ten lectures female students will separate forlectures on women’s ministries. The women’s lecturer willinvestigate the various ministry opportunities for women inthe local church and in society. She will discuss the Biblicalprinciples and practical steps to take to participate in thesevarious ministries.Counseling Youth: Ten lectures will emphasizecounseling issues unique to young people and the Biblicalprinciples that apply to those situations.Romans BIBL145A31.5 clock hoursRomans is the classic treatise on justification by faith.Students will be able to use select verses from Romans insoul winning. Spiritual Disciplines PRTH 219Evangelistic Public Speaking: Ten lectures for bothmen and women on the design, delivery, and techniquesof evangelistic public speaking.Revival: Ten lectures tracking the history of significantrevivals, Biblical principles for revival and the applicationof those principles to individuals, families, local churches,communities and the nation.Spiritual Gifts: In ten lectures students study how toidentify and develop spiritual gifts.31.5 clock hoursSummer Institute of Camping CHCA101This ministry provides ten weeks of intensive practicaltraining and experience in the operation of a Christiancamp.
