Dr. Faith Ratchford, Dr. Heather Pollock and Dr. Kim Healy visited R.J College from July 11 – 31, 2011. Theywere extended a warm welcome by the Management, Principal and her team of vice principals, staff and students. Theyvisited the departments, observed the teaching methods, interacted with the students and staff and delivered lectures onvarious topics like Judaism, travel and tourism, communication etc. It was a very fruitful experience for both the colleges.Our college provided excellent hospitality to the visiting professors and they were also taken for visiting various historicalplaces in the city of Mumbai. They also visited the schools run by Hindi Vidya Prachar Samiti. This collaborationmeans that our teachers and students would also get an opportunity to visit Fleming College, Canada.Dr. Hemijith Balakrishnan, Senior Vice President, Strategy and HR and Mr Chirag Shah Director Health Prime inauguratedthe new course in Post graduate Diploma in Clinical studies, Data Management and Medical writing and also theM. Sc Part I Biotechnology new batch starting this academic year 2011-2012 on Aug. 6, 2011.He spoke on Businessplan and models .Dr. Vilas Sinkar, Vice President, R & D and Dr. Sreemalu Guttapadu visited the Plant Biotechnology Laboratory andreviewed the progress of the work done of the Unilever sponsored project on Evaluation of Root Cultures of CamelliaSinensis for Theanine Production awarded to Dr. Usha Mukundan. They were impressed by the work and the facilitiesof our college.The Intercollegiate Quiz Competition Infinity –2011 was conducted on Aug. 26, 2011. The team from Ruia collegebagged the first prize, K.C. college team was first runner-up and R.J. college team was second runner-up.LIBRARY NEWSMrs. Shubhangi Vedak, Librarian, organized a Booktalk Competition for the students on Aug. 30, 2011. The title selectedfor the event was Corporate Chanakya and the author of this book, Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, was invited as theChief Guest for this event. Mr. Salwin George (FYBMS) won the first prize. The second Prize was received by Ms.Shilpa Yadav (T.Y.B.Sc.) and Ms. Sindhu Yadav from (T.Y.B.M.S.) got the third Prize.
