From personal experience, I often find it<br />
difficult to mentally remove myself from the<br />
confines of a hospital room since common<br />
recreational spaces are few and far between.<br />
My rehab center design creates a semi-public,<br />
semi-private recreational area easily accessible<br />
and viewable from each patient room. In<br />
these spaces, patients and their visitors have<br />
an opportunity to escape their isolated sterile<br />
hospital rooms and enter an area of social<br />
interaction and engagement.<br />
