SpotLights and Mounting Systems 

Designed for all types of display work, this adaptable system has LED and 

Halogen light sources which can be mounted in a variety of ways using 

the stem profile, an aluminium channel extrusion or a single swivel base. 

There are as many ideas for lighting displays and cabinets as there are 

designers, but (believe me!) we have tried to simplify it into the following. 

The best place to start a specification is to send us a sketch of the 

cabinet, and where you would like the lighting. We can then discuss it 

and come up with a proposal. 

The finished item is supplied to specification and fully assembled. 

When specifying, select the type of Light Source and the Mounting Option.

LD81 and LD281 

These miniature LED spotlights are available in 1W (LD81) and 2W (LD281) versions, and mounted on a matching knuckle joint for easy adjustment. 

Manufactured out of aluminium, and anodized silver or black, special finishes can be applied at extra cost. The lenses are interchangeable by a simple screw on 

cowl. Being so small, yet powerful they really add sparkle and great illumination to any cabinet.

SP Halogen spots 

SP10 

Manufactured from aluminium, these compact SC SpotLights accept Dichroic lamps. The knuckle joint has an M8 thread, so if the SP10 is supplied as an 

individual item it comes with a nut and washer.

Mounting Options 

The best method of specification for these spotlights and mounting systems is 

to send us a sketch of what is required. This can then be discussed and we 

will produce a project specification and quote. This will have a unique 

reference number which is easy and accurate to use on drawings for 

tendering etc. 

Stem Mounting Linear Profile 

This 2 part aluminium profile has been designed as a slight oval and is 

counterbored where the knuckles attach which gives a slim look and neat 

detail at junction. 

There are 4 mounting methods:

For through bolting to the base of a

Aluminium U Channel 13 x 13mm 

This is very useful in the top or sides of cabinets and makes installation 

particularly easy since nearly all the wiring can be completed at the 

manufacturing stage. If it is set into a routered groove in the shelf or cabinet it 

virtually disappears.

PL1 Swivel mounting Socket 

PL1 is useful for mounting individual spotlights neatly into the sides, top or base 

of cabinets. When mounted in the base they make the spot work like stage 

footlights and are very effective with figurines and vases.

Showcase T2 

Showcase T2 is a miniature fluorescent class II fitting supplied with lamp and 

remote or integral control gear. The body is a 25mm square extrusion of 

aluminium with a polycarbonate cover. Showcase T2 has been designed 

specifically for use in cabinets and under shelves, so the cover has vertical 

fresnal prisms which project light forwards and downwards with output above 

the horizontal being limited to minimise glare. 

T2 lamps are available in warm white cool white and daylight colour 

temperatures and are triphosphor so have good colour rendering – good for all 

those bright colours on cosmetics shelves! 

For museum use or illuminating any sensitive materials for long periods, there 

is an optional UV filter. These fittings are also suitable for direct mounting on 

normally flammable surfaces.

Showcase Lighting 

Miniature recessed Tungsten Halogen display lighting for showcases and 

cabinets supplied complete with safety low-pressure capsule lamps. These 

downlights are ideally suited with their slim-line profile for shallow recess 

depths but still suitable for direct mounting on normally flammable surfaces. 

The specular aluminium reflector gives a broad wash of diffused light whilst 

the direct illumination from the capsule lamp provides sparkle.

suitable for display lighting and cabinets are shown on pages 122-123.

Showcase 1 

A made to measure linear halogen system where lengths, colour and lamp 

spacing can be varied to suit the application. It is based on a two-part 25mm 

square aluminium extrusion. The rear extrusion provides a cable route for 

through wiring, while the front section secures reflectors, lampholders and 

brackets. Showcase 1 provides a wide variety of lighting solutions where an 

even, linear wash of light is required. The halogen lamps provide good colour 

rendition and sparkle making it excellent as display or task lighting. 

Ideas for uses:- 

l Inside display cabinets or under shelves. 

l Under cabinet task lighting – particularly good in kitchens. 

l Display board lighting – set up like a picture light. 

l Coffer lighting – particularly when the system is to provide ambient Light.

Showcase 2 

Showcase 2 is an easy to fix cabinet version of XenLight with 3 / 5 / 8.5 or 

10W 24V lamps spaced at 55mm intervals, mounted in a 90º aluminium angle 

extrusion and with an integral reflector. It is made to order at lengths to suit 

the particular project. 

The closely spaced loop ended lamps give the appearance of a continuous 

light source, but produce excellent sparkle from multiple sources. Showcase 2 

has the added advantage of a high colour-rendering index due to the warm 

white light produced by the Xenon lamps (2400K) 

This system is ideally suited to undershelf lighting where maximum sparkle and 

a warm light is required. 

Simple to fix by screws through the flanges anywhere along its length.
