Sally KidallArtist StatementThrough site-specific environmental installation andphotography I seek to challenge the predictability ofexpectation and `cultural homogeneity’. My art practiceis inspired by the complexities, equilibrium and fragilityof the natural environment and by the ways in which ourman made system works within, or in opposition to, thesenatural systems. The focus of my practice is the concept oftransition, including notions of unpredictability, vulnerability, deterioration and ephemerality. My work is informed byissues relating to human ecology, consumption andmaterialism.“The more we have the less we own.”Meister EckhartArtist BiographyInternational environmental artist Sally Kidall was born inthe UK, she has been practicing for over 25 years and atpresent works in Australia.
