Mark BoothArtist StatementMy sculptures are concerned with the appropriation of readymadecomponents and their formation into compositionalconstructions through systematical processes of repetitionand pattern. They replicate the module in a non-referential,non-objective manner. Their appearance addresses issuesof transience and non-presence.My practice uses commercially produced plastic pipingthat teases out aspects of Minimalism, installation, and theimmaterial. The sculptures are camouflaged and bleachedwith fluorescent lighting. Colour and light obfuscate theobjects and assimilate them into their surroundings.Artist BiographyMark Booth has completed a BA (Hons) in Graphic Designat the University of the West of England, and a BFA inCeramics at the National Art School, Sydney, where hewas awarded a Distinction.
