FreeSpace ® DXA 2120Digital Mixer/AmplifierEngineers’ and Architects’SpecificationsThe unit shall be a digital mixer/amplifier.The unit shall use a digital signal processingarchitecture running at 44.1 kHz sample rate. The frequency response shall be from 40 Hz to16 kHz (+0/-3 dB). The dynamic range shall be80 dB (typical) 40 Hz to 16 kHz. The signal-to-noiseratio shall be 75 dB or greater (A-weighted).The unit shall have mixing and routing capabilitiesas well as amplification. The unit’s DSP shallfeature selectable Bose ® loudspeaker EQs aswell as dynamic equalization. The input section shall have four mic/line inputs, one direct input and one page input. The mic/lineinputs shall have both 3-pin Euroblock connectorsfor balanced mic/line inputs and dual RCA jacks(summed to mono) for unbalanced line inputs. The direct and page inputs shall have 4-pinEuroblock connectors for balanced inputs. The page input shall be operated in PTT (pushto talk) or Auto mode and provide automaticducking for announcements. The direct input shall automatically overrideall other inputs when a signal is detected foremergency signaling purposes. The output section shall feature two poweredloudspeaker outputs with 5-terminal invertedEuroblock connectors. The unit will have anauxiliary output with a 3-pin Euroblock connector. The amplifier section shall contain two poweredoutputs for high or low impedance: 2 x 120W at4Ω or 2 x 100W at 70/100V. The THD shall beless than 0.5% @ full rated power. The unit shall feature three different modes ofoperation: Mixer Mode, Stereo Select Mode andDual Mono Select Mode. The 100V variant will operate at 100V AC.A second variant will be able to operate at120V/220-240V AC; there will be an AC inputvoltage switch on the unit. The unit shallconsume AC power of 40W or less at idle,350W at maximum continuous rated powerand also will have a 2-terminal barrier strip forconnecting a 24V DC backup power supply. The unit will have a remote input with a6-pin Euroblock connector for using one ortwo volume controls and/or volume controlwith A/B select user interfaces. The unit shall be configurable via the onboardcontrols and feature a “lockout” feature toprevent unwanted system changes. An RS-232COM port will be available for system updates. The unit shall be the Bose ® FreeSpace ® DXA 2120digital mixer/amplifier.Safety and Regulatory ComplianceThe 120V/220-240V AC variant (PC 040753,PC 040754, PC 040755, PC 040756) of theFreeSpace DXA 2120 digital mixer/amplifiercomplies with CE requirements, is UL Listedaccording to UL60065 (7th edition) andCAN/CSA C22.2 No. 60065-03; CB approved, according to IEC60065 (7th edition), includinggroup and National differences; GS approved, according to EN60065 (7th edition). It alsocomplies with FCC Part 15B Class A (2003),EN55103-1 (1997), EN55103-2 (1996), andCISPR13 (2003) requirements. The 100V variant (PC 040742) of the DXA 2120digital mixer/amplifier is PSE compliant.Limited WarrantyThe FreeSpace DXA 2120 digital mixer/amplifieris covered by a two-year transferable limitedwarranty. How our Products are Measured1. Amplifier powerA single channel is driven to full powerwith the nominal load impedance (120W/4Ω,100W/70V/49Ω, 100W/100V/98Ω). Outputpower is measured using a 1 kHz sine wavewith a THD of less than 0.5%, as measuredat the amplifier output.2. Dynamic rangeThe output of the amplifier is connected tothe rated load impedance, and the input andoutput gains are set to maximum. A dB-calibratedvoltmeter is connected to the amplifier’s outputthrough an A-weighting filter (in accordancewith IEC 60651). A 1 kHz signal is connected toone of the line inputs, and the level is adjustedto achieve the amplifier’s rated output power. The voltmeter is then zero-referenced. Thesignal source is removed, and the line input isshorted. The dB-calibrated voltmeter now readsthe absolute dynamic range of the system.TECHNICAL DATA SHEET6OF 8pro.Bose.com
