DECIDE!How do you get from “I’m bummed out“to “I’m me and I love me just the way I am”?Recently my friend “Anna” called all bent out of shapebecause she thought she “couldn’t be successful.”She claimed that she “hadn’t gotten anywhere,” andshe’d “never be able to do” what she wanted to do.She went on, crying, ranting, wailing, <strong>com</strong>plaining,wanting to “get married and have a man, becausethat would take care of money.”Just for some prespective, Anna has moved sofar in the past two years that she makes a <strong>com</strong>etlook lazy. She has be<strong>com</strong>e an incredibly adept EFTpractitioner, speaker and coach—and she recentlyhad the courage and self-esteem to divorce theabusive man she’d been married to.She now feels like she hadn’t gotten anywhere? DECIDE!She confessed that she had gotten into this state becauseshe had been watching a show on TV where a manaws being celebrated for a success he’d created. Shefell into <strong>com</strong>paring herself with him. She gave upher power, individuality and personal uniqueness.She lost it. DECIDE!Here’s how you get out of it:LISTEN!What words are you saying?Listen to them!If you hear absolute words like always or never,I’m __(fill it in)___ , like I can’t... or I don’t...,perk up and pay attention to yourself!These are things you heard from people whenyou were a kid, and you believed them—andtook them on as your own. Now they’re words,phrases, statements and <strong>com</strong>ments plastered allover the inside of your head. They are NOT true!They are only untrue descriptions. They are old thoughthabitsthat just cut you down. They do not do one single, solitarygood thing for you except keep you feeling small. Are you sitting or lying down, feelingexhausted? Does your world feel constricted andpainful? Is your body in pain?Time for a new choice!“Oh, easy,” I can hear you say.“Sure! Right! You bet! After all these years of pain, I can change it in aflash? DECIDE!Now here’s the thing--the magic thing.We have been given the key so many times—and wepass by it every single day.The only thing “wrong” with us is that wethink there is something wrong with us!There is not one thing wrong with you.Not one thing.“Ah!” you say, “but I don’t have enough time,or money, or I’ve been ill, or my husband justleft me, or my daughter just got pregnant....”So? Excuse me, but does that say there issomething wrong with YOU?No! You can argue with that all you want. DECIDE!Look at the inner core of yourself.That part of you that is your eternal, undying,incorruptible, unchanging, delightful, loving,expanded, intelligent, amazing unique essence.There’s not one thing wrong with that. Yourcore is and always has been and always will be.That’s what the saints, yogis, seers, gurus, expertssay—no matter what religion, sect, order, businessor discipline.And I agree. I’ve done so many sessions and so muchwork with people over the years, and every singletime I lead them back to their core truth-of-being, theysuddenly shift out of who they had been being. Gone.Over. No signs at all of the internal conflict.Pain disappears, mental traps disappear, the loop-thinking stops, theinsanity stops. DECIDE!When I was sick not long ago, all I could think of was carvingthis one sculpture that kept appearing in my mind in agorgeous light blue-green stone. As soon as I was able,I got up and ordered the stone. I MUST create. It fillsme with such joy, such amazing satisfaction.My studio and office are sacred spaces to me, notplaces I just “go to work” in. It’s where divineinspiration <strong>com</strong>es through me and out my handslike torrential rivers. If I deny that, I get sick,exhausted, discouraged and depressed. Creatingis my life blood.I don’t always have to be making art to feelcreative. Another way of doing that for me ishelping people feel inspired, supporting themgetting through business obstacles, <strong>com</strong>ing up withexciting new ideas and options, helping them see theirway though their old stories and into new scenarios ofbeauty, service and satisfaction. Support? Inspire? Create? Believe insomeone? Adventure? Intuition?
