Admission<br />

lOcal Student admiSSiOn PROceduReS<br />

1. Student invited to complete tour of <strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>and</strong> receives<br />

course outline <strong>and</strong> information<br />

2. Complete <strong>and</strong> sign enrolment application form <strong>and</strong> pay $250 application<br />

fee prior to orientation day<br />

3. Select up front payment or payment plan<br />

4. Deposit to be paid prior to orientation day to secure a place<br />

5. Confirmation letter is sent confirming student enrolment & orientation<br />

procedures<br />

inteRnatiOnal Student admiSSiOn PROceduReS<br />

1. Student completes <strong>and</strong> signs (student <strong>and</strong> witness) <strong>Headmasters</strong><br />

<strong>Academy</strong> Application for Enrolment form.<br />

2. Student sends a copy of the Application For Enrolment form along with<br />

a copy of student passport, visa (if already in Australia), IELTS test results<br />

(if required) or other forms of English Language testing to <strong>Headmasters</strong><br />

<strong>Academy</strong> via fax, email or in person. If student does not as yet have<br />

IELTS results or proof that they will be studying at an approved ELICOS<br />

provider before commencing at <strong>Headmasters</strong>, this can be provided<br />

at Step 4 of admission procedures. If the student is currently studying<br />

with another provider <strong>and</strong> within six months of their principal course, a<br />

release letter from that provider must also be submitted.<br />

3. Once entry requirements are met, <strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> will issue a<br />

Letter of Offer with an agreed start date, completion date, Overseas<br />

Student Health Cover (OSHC) <strong>and</strong> payment details.<br />

4. Once <strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> receives the student’s returned offer of<br />

acceptance <strong>and</strong> first fee payment installment, <strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>Academy</strong><br />

will issue a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE). Students should ensure<br />

all payments are clearly labelled with the complete student name as it<br />

appears on passport. Students are to notify <strong>Headmasters</strong> when a deposit<br />

has been made.<br />

5. Student takes COE to Immigration for visa to be approved.<br />

6. Student arrives at <strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> ready to attend orientation<br />

day. Orientation will commence at 8.45am on the date outlined in the<br />

Letter of Offer. Students must attend orientation.<br />

ORientatiOn <strong>and</strong> inductiOn<br />

At orientation all new students are introduced to <strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>and</strong> made<br />

familiar with the Code of Practice, policies <strong>and</strong> procedures. Orientation<br />

includes a complete tour of the <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>and</strong> introduction to the training<br />

systems used. These include training <strong>and</strong> assessment methods, units<br />

of competence, training plans <strong>and</strong> timetables. Students are issued with<br />

their own Competency Passport, which is a record of student training <strong>and</strong><br />

associated student information. A timetable is also provided, however<br />

<strong>Headmasters</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> reserves the right to vary session allocations<br />

throughout the program.<br />

accOmmOdatiOn <strong>and</strong> cOSt OF liVing<br />

<strong>Headmasters</strong> can assist students to find accommodation, but not guarantee<br />

living arrangements. Options available range from boarding with a family,<br />

hostels, rented flats, houses <strong>and</strong> guest houses. Many students choose ‘share<br />

housing’ where a number of students live together close to the <strong>Academy</strong>.<br />

Average costs are:<br />

Full board including meals from AUD$260.00 per week<br />

Hostels including meals from AUD$220.00 per week<br />

Hostels excluding meals from AUD$180.00 per week<br />

apartments (1 bedroom) from AUD$200.00 per week<br />

Houses starting at AUD$280.00 per week<br />

Shared flat or house from AUD$220.00 per week<br />

Approximate cost of living in Melbourne is approximately<br />

$10,000 AUD per annum.<br />

undeR 18 StudentS<br />

International students who are under 18 years of age are required by their<br />

student visa to maintain adequate arrangements for accommodation, support<br />

<strong>and</strong> general welfare while in Australia.<br />

There are three ways in which a student may satisfy this requirement:<br />

• Live with a parent or legal guardian; or<br />

• Live with a suitable relative nominated by your parent or legal guardian; or<br />

• Agree to care arrangements for accommodation, support <strong>and</strong> general<br />

welfare that have been approved <strong>Headmasters</strong>
