Pin placement/frame constructionCalcaneal pin placement• The calcaneal traction pin should be inserted frommedial to lateral and should be placed inferior andposterior to preserve neurovascular structures• Position this pin parallel to the ankle joint orperpendicular to the mechanical axis of the tibia• Confirm pin placement using the C-arm• Attach bar to pin clampsNote Construct shown utilizes the Quick Clamp.Freedom Clamps may also be used forframe construction.Tibial pin placement• Place the tibial pins in the AP plane.
