Ecological EffectsEffects on Birds: Imidacloprid is toxic to upland game birds. Bobwhitequail LD50 is 152 mg/kg and 31 mg/kg in Japanese quail.Effects on Aquatic Organisms: Moderately low toxicity is observed inaquatic organisms. LC50 for rainbow trout is 211mg/l and for carp it is280mg/l. Daphnia EC50 is 85mg/l.
Environmental FateBreakdown in Soil and Groundwater: Soil half life is 48 to 190 days.The primary metabolite is 6-chloronicotinic acid.
