Without one single button, the touch and gesturesensitive deep black glass surface recognises every finger swipe. The European remotecontrol specialist presents not only an aesthetic highlight for ambitious lifestyle scenarios– the glass remote control provides immediate joy of use, playfulness and fun.Simply swiping over the remote control allows the user to perform all kinds of navigationtasks. The specific positioning of keys enable the user to interact one-handed andperform the most frequent tasks on Microsoft Mediaroom simple and quickly. To supportthe full functionality, number keys and letter input are arranged on the second side ofthe remote control. The double side approach increases users experience excellence,giving the choice to either use the standard TV-watching behaviour (e.g. by typing innumbers to select a channel) or to focus on Microsoft Mediaroom services with theenhanced possibilities on the second side. Using sound as additional feedback forperformed touch actions, interactive TV applications can be used without having to lookat the remote control.Based on extensive ethnographic studies investigating the latest trends for newinteraction technologies, invitro supports the customer’s needs and behaviours. Tosynchronize the remote control perfectly with Microsoft Mediaroom, the development ofinvitro was accompanied by a series of user studies within the ruwido user experiencestudio resulting in an excellent user experience.Invitro is not only interesting in design and technology aspects, but provides interestingecological features as well: since the whole remote control is made of fully ecologicalmaterials like glass and metal, invitro can be easily recycled.
