Target marketsinclude electroplating chemicals, automotive, catalysts for coatingsand process additives for chemistry, ceramics and building materials.Based on two-component liquidpolyurethane and epoxy systems, serve as anticorrosion protectionfor the pipeline and valve manufacturingindustry, as well as for watertreatment and power plants. In thearea of thermal curing systems, weproduce dip coatings for the electroplatingand tool industries, as well asstoving varnishes for the packagingindustry. Bitumen specialties findtheir application in civil engineeringand traffic areas. Our Zinc Chemicals are presented on the following pages.| 2

ZINC CHEMICALS – IMPORTANT BASIS FOR A WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONSTIB Chemicals is one of the largest producers of zincchloride solution in Europe. Beside zinc ashes andzinc-rich stripping solutions, hydrochloric acid is oneof the most important raw materials for the productionof zinc chloride raw solution. Per tank ship, we handlemore than 100,000 tons of hydrochloric acid per yearand can hence ensure a smooth continuous supply. They use our zinc chloride solution for the fabrication ofbactericides, fungicides, plastic stabilisers, zinc soapsand many more products. The zinc chloride raw solutionis also used for the production of fluxes and zinc chloridepowder. These products are mainly needed in metalsurface finishing, for example for the pretreatment inhot dip galvanising. The zinc chloride raw solution is the basis for the manufactureof zinc chloride solutions in different concentrationsand qualities. Our customers mainly come from thechemical industry. Our product range of zinc chemicals is completed byzinc ammonium chloride, zinc bromide (solid, liquid),zinc nitrate solution, zinc carbonate, zinc acetate andzinc oxide.

In addition to our own production, we optionally offertoll-manufacturing – also with customer-owned packagingand labelling, if requested, e. g. cleaners, etchingadditives and passivators. The supply of our liquid products can be effected insmall packaging such as containers, but also in completestreet tank cars or rail tank wagons. With regardto packaging of our solid products, we are completelyadapted to our customers’ requirements. By default,we deliver in steel drums with PE-inlet, in which ourproducts can be stored for a very long time. Especially, for zinc chloride powder, smaller quantities can beoffered in reclosable plastic buckets with PE-inlet orin plastic bags. Thanks to the good infrastructure ofour production site in Mannheim, we can deliver to ourcustomers via street, rail or ship.| 4

ZINC CHLORIDE – QUALITY IN LIQUID AND POWDER FORMWe produce our aqueous zinc chloride solution in concentrationsof 35–65 %. Individual quality requestsfrom our customers, for example concerning heavymetal concentrations or organic contamination andnitrogen compounds, can be considered.Zinc chloride powder in free-flowing quality is packed insteel drums containing 300 kg or for special applications aselectroplating, in plastic buckets or bags containing 25 kg.Transport is effected in street tank cars or rail tankwagons. Smaller quantities can also be supplied in IBC.

LOGISTICSCustomers all over the world appreciate both ourproducts and our reliable and flexible delivery service. We respond quickly, no matter whether you need samplesor large product volumes. We also adjust our service toaccommodate your needs by delivering just in time. Inaddition, we are highly flexible with regard to packaging. You can select the package that best suits your application, from 25 kg in plastic bags to full road and rail tank cars. Our operations are virtually free of supply bottlenecks,as we obtain our raw materials from a wide range ofreliable sources. In addition to stockpiling many of thesematerials, we also have access to products of other divisionsof TIB Chemicals AG. This high level of backwardsintegration along the value-added chain has a stabilisingeffect on the costs of producing our chemicals.| 6

FLUXES – ECONOMICAL AND EFFICIENTOur fluxes are mainly used in hot dip galvanising for thepretreatment of steel surfaces. They are also neededfor the pretreatment of metals before soldering andwelding. We can offer to our customers a completerange of standard, acid-buffering and low-fume fluxes. We have added an iron-precipitating flux to our productrange: TIB Flux Ferrokill (“extra strong” version = TIB FluxFerrokill ES). This patented flux was specially developedfor the requirements of our customers. TIB Flux Ferrokillis an acid-buffering universal flux for the hot dip galvanisingprocess. Ferrokill is different from all other knownfluxes in its characteristic to autonomously oxidise unwantediron enrichments and to precipitate the accumulatediron as iron hydroxide sludge. Consequently, ourcustomers can remove, on site, undesirable iron fromthe flux bath by simple filtration. Our fluxes are produced as free-flowing powder andpacked in reclosable steel drums containing amounts of200–300 kg, depending on the composition of the product,or in plastic bags with 25 kg of the product. Fluxescan be stored in the drums for long times without qualityloss. If requested, certain fluxes can also be manufacturedas ready-made solutions and supplied in streettank cars or IBC.As an additional service, we can offer to our customersthe recycling or the reconditioning of their used fluxbaths, filter dusts, zinc rich stripping solution and zincashes. The necessary analyses for the control of the fluxbaths are performed in our analytical laboratory.
