FEATURES IN BRIEF<br />

Concentrate for the simultaneous disinfection and cleaning, deodorization and care <strong>of</strong><br />

dental suction systems, amalgam separators and spittoon bowls.<br />

Broad effective spectrum: bactericidal, tuberculocidal, fungicidal, virucidal with limited effectiveness<br />

(enveloped viruses, e.g. Vaccinia viruses inclusive <strong>of</strong> HBV, HCV, HIV, non-enveloped viruses, e.g. Adeno or Noro viruses).<br />

Tested in accordance with the current DGHM guidelines and European standards.<br />

List <strong>of</strong> VAH/DGHM. Tested in accordance with EN 13727, EN 13624, EN 14348, EN 14561, EN 14562, EN 14563,<br />

EN 14476.<br />

The solution for contaminated suction systems - guarantees safe infection control.<br />

Application concentration 2% only.<br />

Excellent cleaning activity - removes stubborn deposits, even in difficultly accessible places.<br />

Aldehyde-free – activity based on quaternary ammonium compounds.<br />

CHARACTERISTICS<br />

<strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> from Dürr System-Hygiene is a highly effective concentrate for the simultaneous disinfection, deodorization, cleaning and<br />

care <strong>of</strong> all dental suction systems, amalgam separators as well as spittoon bowls. Selected disinfecting and cleansing agents enable<br />

highly effective care without foam, care that is easy on the system itself and the environment. When used daily, <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> ensures<br />

trouble-free operation <strong>of</strong> the suction systems, even with extremely high dirt and germ loads (e.g. saliva, amalgam and dentine dust,<br />

blood, etc.), both with regard to function and hygiene.<br />

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION<br />

<strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> is based on a combination <strong>of</strong> quaternary ammonium compounds, alkaline cleansing agents, complexing agents, special<br />

antifoaming agents and adjuvants in aqueous solution. 100 g <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> contain: 8.8 g dimethyl-dioctyl-ammoniumchloride 50%, 1.2 g<br />

benzyl-dimethyl-dodecyl-ammoniumchloride 50%.<br />

MICROBIOLOGICAL EFFECTIVENESS<br />

<strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> is bactericidal, tuberculocidal, fungicidal 1) , virucidal with limited effectiveness 2) (enveloped viruses, e.g. Vaccinia viruses<br />

inclusive <strong>of</strong> HBV, HCV, HIV, non-enveloped viruses, e.g. Adeno viruses, Noro viruses 3) ).<br />

List <strong>of</strong> VAH/DGHM. Tested in accordance with EN 13727, EN 13624, EN 14348, EN 14561, EN 14562, EN 14563, EN 14476.<br />

1) Test with Candida albicans.<br />

2) In accordance with RKI recommendation (Bundesgesundheitsbl. 47, 62 – 66, 2004).<br />

3) Test with FCV surrogate virus.<br />

DIRECTIONS FOR USE<br />

<strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> is used as a 2% solution. Fill 20 ml <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> up to 1 litre with cold water and draw through suction system, using the<br />

OroCup. Fill at least 250 ml <strong>of</strong> the solution into the spittoon bowl. Observe the necessary exposure time. Thoroughly rinse disinfected<br />

suction system with water. We recommend disinfecting and cleaning suction systems once or twice a day, according to the work load.<br />

Once daily disinfecting and cleaning should be done at night after surgery ends for the day - using <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> for disinfection and<br />

cleaning.<br />

TOXICOLOGY<br />

Determination <strong>of</strong> the acute oral toxicity (LD50) for <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> concentrate in rats gave the result <strong>of</strong> > 2000 mg/kg <strong>of</strong> body weight.<br />

Determination <strong>of</strong> the acute dermal toxicity (LD50) for <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> concentrate in rats gave the result <strong>of</strong> > 2000 mg/kg <strong>of</strong> body weight.<br />

Therefore, <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> is classified as "non-toxic". There is no eye or skin irritation upon contact <strong>of</strong> the 2% solution with the eyes or the<br />

skin. <strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> has no sensitizing properties.<br />

ENVIRONMENTAL BEHAVIOUR<br />

<strong>Orotol</strong> <strong>plus</strong> is easily biodegradable according to OECD guideline 301 D. The packing is made <strong>of</strong> polyethylene and can therefore be<br />

exploited both materially and thermally. For recycling, rinse bottle with water.<br />

substances and preparations. Danger <strong>of</strong> serious damage to eyes. In case <strong>of</strong> contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty <strong>of</strong> water<br />

and seek medical advice. We recommend wearing protective gloves.<br />
