As this is mylast Crusader Article, I wouldlike to thank all theCompanion Knights andladies of our SovereignCollege. For my Masonic work, thepast two years have been, and will be, among my mostmemorable. During mytravels, I have been greeted with such fraternal hospitality, andrespect. I thank you all for your continued support andfraternal companionship. We have accomplished several things these past two years. At the Sovereign College level, we have involved moreCompanion Knights with the conferral of the Order of thePurple Cross at our General Assemblies. I hope this willcontinue, as it proved to be quite a success. From accountsfrom the Grand Governors, involvement at the College levelhas also increased, with more Companion Knights “stepping upto the plate”. We have a wealth of talent out there!!!We created a few new pieces of Regalia, the GrandGovernor Pin, General Membership Charms, and now in theearly stages of planning is a 50 Year Pin and Certificate. We have established a new award which can be given toany lady or non masonic individual for rendering outstandingand faithful service to any branch of Freemasonry. It is calledthe “Diamond Award” which is now ready for purchase. Detailsare contained in this issue on page 2.And with the help of our Education Committee, we havecompleted an “Educational Program” to be offered to anyCompanion Knight. I would like to extend my thanks to RobertG. Davis, and members of his committee. Since the start of mybiennium, they have been working very hard to complete thisprogram. Details of this program can be found in this issue onpage 6.As you know, our 55 th General Assembly is just around thecorner, August 2-4, 2012 in Toronto, Ontario. Great eventshave been planned by the capable members and their ladies ofthe colleges in Ontario. They have two tours planned, as wellas a Meet & Greet. We have continued the rearrangement ofthe schedule of events to permit some Companion Knights, whochoose, to save a day of travel and expense. This schedule willalso permit the Sovereign College Officers to attend the mostimportant workshop for Grand Governors and Deputy GrandGovernors.I would like to extend my congratulations to the membersof the 2012 Order of the Purple Cross Class. I know each of yourealize what this honor means. It is the highest honor we conferon an individual. I thank each of you for your continued serviceand look forward to greeting you in Toronto. This year’s Classwill be named in honor and memory of Past Governor GeneralDonald A. King, a great mason and gentlemen of the first order. Our very capable Sovereign College Officers are, again, stepping aside this year in the conferral of the Order of thePurple Cross. We are trying to involve more Companion Knightsin the General Assembly and a team of volunteers will conferour College’s highest honor.
