The land and <strong>the</strong> people would be enveloped <strong>in</strong> peace.The sun and moon will sh<strong>in</strong>e clear and bright. W<strong>in</strong>d and ra<strong>in</strong>would appear accord<strong>in</strong>gly, and <strong>the</strong>re will be no disasters.Nations would be prosperous and <strong>the</strong>re would be no use forsoldiers or weapons. People would abide by morality andaccord <strong>with</strong> laws. They would be courteous and humble, andeveryone would be content <strong>with</strong>out <strong>in</strong>justices.

The strong would notdom<strong>in</strong>ate <strong>the</strong> weak and everyone would be settled at <strong>the</strong>ir properplace <strong>in</strong> society."The Sutra <strong>of</strong> Amitabha's Purity, Equality, and Understand<strong>in</strong>g- HINDU TRADITION - Mr Kanti J<strong>in</strong>naMahabharata, Chapter two: The Bhagavad Gita is <strong>the</strong> SongCelestial. Its compiler is Maharishi Vyasa and is a discoursebetween Lord Krishna and Arjuna and conversations <strong>with</strong>Sanjaya and K<strong>in</strong>g Dhrtrarashtra. It conta<strong>in</strong>s <strong>the</strong> essence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>four Vedas. It has seven hundred verses and eighteen chaptersand is an organic part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mahabharata.Verses 56 to 68 <strong>of</strong> Chapter two are <strong>the</strong> response <strong>of</strong> Arjuna'squestion to Lord Krishna <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> battlefield " Krishna, what are<strong>the</strong> characteristics <strong>of</strong> a God realised soul, stable <strong>of</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d andestablished <strong>in</strong> Samadhi (<strong>in</strong> perfect tranquility <strong>of</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d). How does<strong>the</strong> man <strong>of</strong> stable m<strong>in</strong>d speak? How does he sit? How does hewalk? The Lord says <strong>in</strong> Verse 55. Arjuna, when one thoroughlycasts <strong>of</strong>f all crav<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d and is satisfied <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> selfthrough <strong>the</strong> joy <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> self. He is <strong>the</strong>n called stable <strong>of</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d.The sage, whose m<strong>in</strong>d rema<strong>in</strong>s unperturbed amid sorrows,whose thirst for pleasures has altoge<strong>the</strong>r disappeared, and whois free from passion, fear and anger, is called stable <strong>of</strong> m<strong>in</strong>dTherefore, hav<strong>in</strong>g controlled all <strong>the</strong> senses and concentrat<strong>in</strong>ghis m<strong>in</strong>d, he should sit for meditation, devot<strong>in</strong>g himself heartand soul to Me. For, he whose senses are under his control, isknown to have a stable m<strong>in</strong>d- JEWISH TRADITION - Mr Bill Arnold(Genesis 1:29-31)And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yield<strong>in</strong>gseed which is upon <strong>the</strong> face <strong>of</strong> all <strong>the</strong> earth, and every tree <strong>with</strong>seed <strong>in</strong> its fruit; you shall have <strong>the</strong>m for food.


And to every beast <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> earth, and to every bird <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> air, andto everyth<strong>in</strong>g that creeps on <strong>the</strong> earth, everyth<strong>in</strong>g that has <strong>the</strong>breath <strong>of</strong> life, I have given every <strong>green</strong> plant for food."
