The objective is to identify gaps and suggest means for improvement at thefacility, district and state level, and to convey the proposal to NIHFW seekingtheir guidance.The facilities/areas covered included:• State level planning and training activities• District level planning and training activities• Healthcare Facilities at district levelo District Hospital;o First level Referral Unit;o Primary Health Centers (24x7); ando Sub- centersThe activity has been completed and the reports have been sent to the NIHFWfor compilation and views. The reports have also been shared with State HealthAuthorities for taking necessary follow up action.III.RESEARCHCurrently the Institute is conducting a research study on “Status of Birth Preparednessand Complication Readiness” in Bankura and Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, with financialsupport from NRHM – Data collection has been completed in both the districts, dataanalysis is going on and report is expected to be submitted soon.IHFW is also assisting in research study on “Evaluation of training outcome onDiarrhoea Case Management” in Nadia district of West Bengal, under NRHM.The Institute is assisting and evaluating many other research activities.28 | P a g e Institute of Health and Family Welfare
