Red Bull Australia Pty Ltd (RBA) is committed to the principles of the Australian Packaging Covenant. We share the
commitment to achieving the Covenant's aims of minimising waste while recognising the important role that packaging
plays in providing safe, hygienic and efficient transportation, storage and consumption of Red Bull products.
Our action plan for 2011 has been developed to continue to improve our packaging impact on the environment through
reducing waste, increasing recycling and reducing the amount of packaging used.
There are important yet relatively simple processes that RBA can make internally to reduce the amount of packaging
used throughout the entire value chain. Every day actions such as office recycling are an effective reminder to our staff
that every step in our work day can make a difference.
An example of our actions that have the potential to make more of a difference (of course on a much larger scale) is the
study of reduction of damages throughout our supply chain. We are currently trialling various ways of packing the can
into containers, alternate patterns stacked onto pallets and different pallet wrap formats for transporting the can over
long distances (such as Tasmania). Every step within our supply chain will be measured, reviewed and improved where
necessary and practical.
We look forward to discovering other opportunities throughout the year to reduce packaging and waste, and increase
recycling.
Best regards,
