Quaternary ammonium compounds As quaternary fatty ammonium salts are compounds with strong bactericidal and fungicidal action, Dodigen ® grades find widespread use in disinfectant cleaners and also help to control algae, for instance in cooling water and swimming baths. In cosmetics, Präpagen ® and Dodigen ® grades are used e.g. in the formulation of hair care products. In the textile industry, Präpagen ® and Dodigen ® grades are Amine oxides Amine oxides are good surfactants and, unlike fatty alkyl ammonium salts, can be used together with anionic compounds without impairment of their surface-active properties. Our Genaminox ® grades are used especially in the detergent industry, where they serve primarily Amine salts used as softeners, re-wetting and antistatic and antibacterial finishing agents and have proved to be successful levelling agents and retarders in acrylic fibre dyeing. Other applications include the use as acid inhibitors, emulsifiers, dispersing agents, vulcanization accelerators, antistatic agents and auxillaries in paint applications.
