Wallsgrove was the former Competitions Manager at Riley, in1907 aged 14 he joined the Deasy Company helping with adjustmentsafter road tests, by 1913 he had joined Daimler staying there until warbroke out at which point he joined the Army Service Corps and landedin France on September 3 1914.After the War, Mr. Wallsgrove spent some time with the Standard MotorCompany, again in the road test department, before joining the RileyCompany. There he became assistant works manager and opened theCompetitions Department in 1922, running the department as its onlymember and carrying on his duties as assistant works manager.As the only driver he competed in hill climbs, races, rallies and sprints,eventually opening his own garage in 1927 and retiring around 1957aged 64.
