Page 2/3October 2009This measuring information is intended as an aid for using the AVL DiSpeed 492 to makemeasurements on motorbikes.General information on measurements:The dual sensor of the AVL DiSpeed must be attached to the motorbike at a suitablemagnetic point. Not all mounting points are suitable for ensuring a trouble-free measuring procedure. The following are important characteristics for the mounting point:• The sensor needs to be attached near to the engine, but not necessarily on the engineitself• You must make sure that the base of the sensor has a full contact surfaceExamples of extremely favorable mounting points:- Exhaust clamp, exhaust mounting (beware of heat generation)- Heat guard plates and system mounting partsFUTURE SOLUTIONS FOR TODAY
