The fact ispurely academic because closer analysisreveals that the greatest loss took placewith the slowest propellants and, perhapsmore significantly, with the lightest bullets.It also is worthwhile to note that theaverage percentage of velocity loss forthese five-shot strings was 22-percent for abarrel that is 55-percent shorter.
