General Information<br />
CHILDREN<br />
The participation to the <strong>ERA</strong>-<strong>EDTA</strong> <strong>Congress</strong> is not open to<br />
non healthcare professionals, particularly children.<br />
Children under 12 years of age are not admitted within<br />
the <strong>Congress</strong> limits, children who are at least 12 years old<br />
can be admitted but only to the Opening Ceremony and<br />
only if accompanied by regularly registered adults. Their<br />
number cannot exceed one child per registered adult. The<br />
accompanying adult will be responsible for the child’s<br />
safety and behaviour at all times.<br />
Access for non healthcare professionals, in particular children,<br />
to the exhibition/poster/session halls will be prohibited<br />
at all times.<br />
CLIMATE<br />
Paris, at the end of May, is quite sunny and can therefore<br />
be warm with temperatures going from 13°C to 25°C.<br />
Nevertheless, rain and wind are also possible.<br />
CME COURSES<br />
In order to participate in the CME Courses held on May 24,<br />
<strong>2012</strong>, all regularly registered congress members must go to<br />
the session halls and have their badge scanned by the hostesses<br />
at the entrance (at participant’s own responsibility).<br />
Please note that the seat capacity of the conference rooms<br />
is limited, therefore participation in these courses will be<br />
on a “first come first served” basis.<br />
The courses are reserved to regularly registered congress<br />
members and are included in the registration fee.<br />
<strong>CONGRESS</strong> MEMBERSHIP<br />
Regularly registered participants are entitled to attend all<br />
Scientific and Poster Sessions, Opening Ceremony with<br />
Welcome Reception and Industrial Exhibition. Onsite they<br />
will also receive a congress kit (including Final Programme<br />
and Abstract CD-ROM) as well as vouchers for coffee/tea.<br />
The vouchers will be sent, together with the badge, to all<br />
pre-registered congress members.<br />
Accompanying guest registration is not available, however,<br />
all participants can take part, with their accompanying<br />
guests, in the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception<br />
on May 24, <strong>2012</strong>.<br />
A confirmation letter and congress materials (badge and<br />
coffee tickets) will be sent by post to regularly pre-registered<br />
congress members shortly after the set deadlines.<br />
We strongly suggest that all the congress members, who<br />
have not received their materials in due time, contact the<br />
Registration Dept (e-mail: registrations@era-edta.org or fax:<br />
+39-0521-959242) urgently.<br />
<strong>Congress</strong> bags, which include the Final Programme and<br />

the Abstract CD-ROM, can be picked up at the bag desk<br />
located in the Registration Area starting May 24, <strong>2012</strong> at<br />
7.00 hrs.<br />
In order to pick up their congress bag each participant will<br />
have to show their badge for scanning.<br />
Please note that admission to the Registration Area will be<br />
strictly forbidden to all until May 24, <strong>2012</strong> at 7.00 hrs.<br />
The registration fee does not include any other benefit besides<br />
the ones mentioned above. For any kind of information<br />
regarding the online pre-registration system, please<br />
check the <strong>Congress</strong> Membership Rules at page 20-23.<br />
CURRENCY<br />
EUR (€) is the official currency in France. Money can be<br />
changed at the main train stations, international airports,<br />
major banks, exchange bureau, most large hotels and the<br />
post office.<br />
All major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants<br />
and shops.<br />
ELECTRICITY<br />
The electricity in France runs on 220 volts; the frequency<br />
is 50 Hz and the plugs have two male contact pins. Plan to<br />
bring a transformer for your electrical or electronic equipment<br />
using different voltage (i.e. USA, Canada).<br />
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS / VISAS<br />
Passport and visa requirements may differ according to the<br />
country of origin, please contact the French Embassy or<br />
Consulate in your country for more details.<br />
An official invitation letter can be downloaded and printed<br />
on the <strong>Congress</strong> website www.eraedta<strong>2012</strong>.org or can<br />
be requested by writing to the President of the <strong>Congress</strong><br />
Prof. Pierre Ronco (e-mail: visa@era-edta.org) at least three<br />
months in advance. This letter however does NOT involve<br />
any commitments by the <strong>Congress</strong> Organizers to cover<br />
fees, accommodation, travel expenses or other costs connected<br />
to the participation in the <strong>Congress</strong>.<br />
<strong>ERA</strong>-<strong>EDTA</strong> will not be held responsible for visa that are not<br />
granted.<br />
HOW TO GET THE CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE<br />
All regularly registered delegates can collect their certificate<br />
of attendance at the appropriate desk (“Certificate<br />
of Attendance”) located in the Registration Area starting<br />
May 25, <strong>2012</strong> after 15.00 hours. To obtain the certificate<br />
of attendance, it is mandatory to go to this desk and show<br />
the badge. A personalized certificate will be printed and<br />
will state exactly, and only, the days of the participation<br />
