This exercise was basically redundant to our efforts above. However, review <strong>of</strong>literature cited in major publications provided a “double check” for important works that mayhave been missed by other methods. These citations were included in the Pro-Cite ® databaseprovided with this report <strong>and</strong> were cited in the sections below; thus, most will not be repeatedhere. However, examples <strong>of</strong> “key publications” included publications or review works such asChristensen (1970, 1996), Weig<strong>and</strong> (1980), Smith et al. (1982), Ratti et al. (1983), Carroll(1993), <strong>and</strong> theses such as Mendel (1979), Lindbloom (1998), <strong>and</strong> Walter (2000).3.1.5. Search TermsDuring our search for literature, we used a series <strong>of</strong> search terms designed to locateliterature germane to this report topic. These terms are listed in Appendix B.
