Poverty reduction (Forestry) – contd…• 10 critical water sources were protected with anarea of 14.5 acres.• An area of 64.226 acres was brought underafforestations in the last two years increasing it to285.636 acres under afforestations.• 4.68% (4714 acres) of the forest coverage washanded over to the public as community forest formanagement.• The income from the sale of wood and non-woodproducts has increased from Nu. 0.029 million in2007 to Nu. 0.282 million at the end of 2010.

To improve maternal health.• Gewog administrations have been directed to identify the watersources for the villages and households facing water shortage.• 34 RWSS were constructed out of which nine were completelynew. 29 were rehabilitated, and 25 spring protections done.• Sanitation program has been carried out in all the gewogs withsupport from SNV.
