These programs can be entered directlyfrom a drawing, or entered as the first piece ismachined. Scaling of programming parts is availablefor mold making and resizing parts. Mirror imaging isincluded to machine right and left handed parts andcopying symmetrical features on a part. Theprogrammable memory has automatic toolcompensation for up to 99 tools. Pathfinder 50/100Model 8781/8782 The Pathfinder measuring scale uses a precision glassscale, designed for years of trouble-free service in machineshop environments. To prevent accidental damage, the glass scale isenclosed in a.187 inch(4.7mm) thick extruded aluminumhousing. To complete the enclosure we use a unique slidingstainless steel sealing tape, rather than rubber seals thatdegrade over time. This design has proven to beextremely effective in preventing coolants and othercontamination from entering the scale housing. The Pathfinder measuring scale is the ideal choice forthe majority of machine tools. Its easily installed on millingmachines, boring mills, lathes, VTL’s, grinders and manyother machines, with linear motion up to 80 inches (2000mm).PATHFINDER SPECIFICATIONSPathfinder Slimline 50/100Model 8787/8788 The Slimline scale assembly is designed for machineapplications where there is limited space available formounting. With a 1 inch (25 mm) by 1.25 inch (32 mm)cross section, including the mounting spar, it is adaptableto many small machine tools. The Slimline uses a precision glass measuring scalemounted in an extruded aluminum housing, with a tightclosure rubber seal to protect it from damage andcontamination. Pathfinder Rack & PinionModel 8795/8796 The Rack & Pinion Measurement scale is designed forlarge scale machine tool applications. It consists of aseries of 12 inch (304 mm) long sections of precisionground rack enclosed in an extruded aluminum housing.Heavy rubber flaps seal the front of the housing, providingprotection from contamination. This stainless steel and aluminum construction makesthe Rack & Pinion the best choice for large heavy-dutymachinery where other types of measuring scales couldbe damaged easily. A heavy duty sealed rotary encoder with an integralpinion meshes with the rack, using a spring loadedmounting bracket to eliminate any backlash error forhigher accuracy.
