SPECIAL PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION 

Co-initiator and Co-director of AAHPERD's national video contest for all videos with a 

sport, health, recreation, physical education, or dance theme. Over 60 videos have been 

entered each year. Participants include Nabisco, Tampax, Hersheys, US Tennis Asso, and 

a variety of colleges, universities, public schools, private enterprises and television 

stations. 

Initiator and co-director of AAHPERD's "Reading of Poetry, Song, and Creative Prose". 

Entries are also juried and then published in the Sport Art Academy Newsletter. 

Initiator and co-coordinator of an information sharing tour with a black South African 

physical education and dance professor. Selected the grantee, solicited funds from five 

major universities, two colleges, a regional and a national professional organization to 

participate in the exchange.
