J.H Badley, the founder of Bedales, believed thatchildren should be educated through ‘head, handand heart’. These values are upheld and celebratedin the Dunannie Nursery over 100 years later.HeadThe children’s thirst for knowledgeis met through a creative, flexible yetrigorous curriculum. The foundationsfor future learning are laid downfirmly in this very important year.HandAppreciate the beautifulThe Dunannie Nursery is locatedin a beautiful converted barn withlight, airy spaces that allow for multipurposeareas, role play and creativeactivities. Immediately outside theNursery is a separate garden and ayear-round play area. The Nurseryis surrounded by an orchard, whichhas its own wooden play equipmentas well as a Sound Garden. Outdoorlearning is embedded in the Bedalesculture and is an important partof daily life for the children in thenursery’s own garden.In addition, the children use theDunannie school playground andsandpit, and have access to all thefacilities at Bedales.
