Company/Client Adviser/Sponsor: The University of Toledo
Bioengineering Department
Students: Sven Huijs, Alex Soto-Edwards and Joseph Warnock
This leg elevation device provides calibrated, adjustable
support for the upper leg, lower leg and foot. It keeps the
patient’s leg elevated while lying down or sitting upright and
is adjustable for leg length, height of elevation, and angle of
bending at the knee.
Faculty Adviser: Dr. Ronald L. Fournier
Company/Client Adviser/Sponsor: The University of Toledo,
Bioengineering Department
Students: Line Francine Kouecheu, Genki Matsumoto
and Kimberly Zins
This computer program assesses a patient’s actual pain based
on physiologic variables such as heart rate, galvanic skin
response, respiratory rate and temperature. It will help healthcare
providers separate patients with actual pain from those
who are seeking pain meds to satisfy addictions.
Faculty Advisers: Dr. Brent D. Cameron
and Dr. Ronald L. Fournier
Company/Client Adviser/Sponsor: Mr. Scott Seligman of DJO Global Inc.
Students: Corey Beth Monarch, Lindsey Novak, Michael Seikel and
Whitney Young
This modified knee brace includes an angular sensor and
microcontroller to record data on the knee’s range of motion.
The brace can help physical therapists and athletic trainers
assess a subject’s recovery, prescribe exercises, and monitor
range of motion.
