They werefollowed by the 287,000 to be called up for the Navy, Army and Air Force between 1951 and 1959 and again between1965 and 1972. A total of 212 of them died on active service in Borneo and Vietnam.Join us in the birthplace of National Service for the 60th anniversary which we’ll be celebrating from 8 to 11September. Townsville City Council has declared it a Major Significant Event and swung in behind us with organisingvenues, tours and accommodation. for a big program including a meet and greet on Thursday night, a ReunionDinner on Friday night, a Variety Concert on Saturday night and a Parade, BBQ and family fun day on Sunday.We will be offering a variety of tours throughout the four days and will be glad to arrange extra tours to placessuch as historic Charters Towers, Magnetic Island, the mighty Burdekin River and Dam, the Barrier Reef and manyother interesting sights if you wish to extend your stay.Watch <strong>Nasho</strong> News and our website which will be up and running by the end of November for details of events,accommodation and transport including buses, trains, air and your own vehicle.
