The DMX output socket on the back panelshall be a 5-pin AXR. The output voltages shall conform to standardRS-485 balanced serial data transmission.The console shall have a MIDI In connection, the socket being astandard MIDI 5-pin DIN connector.The console shall have two preset faders and a flash button perchannel to allow direct manual control of stage lighting intensity. Theflash button shall house a light emitting diode (LED) to indicatechannel output level.The console shall utilise four (4) liquid crystaldisplays (LCDs) to provide parameter and editinginformation to the operator.The console shall have a memory capacity ofat least 128 Kbytes and shall be batterybackedto prevent memory loss whenswitched off. The battery shall have a life of atleast four (4) years.The console shall incorporate designtechniques and electronic filters to complywith the new Australian and European Uniondirectives on electrical safety and electromagneticcompatibility (EMC) (CE approved:EN50081-1, EN50082-1, EN<strong>60</strong>950).OperationThe console operating software shallincorporate diagnostic test routines thatexercise the different systems on the CPUcard. These test routines shall indicate to theoperator (using LEDs and/or displays) theresult (pass/fail) of the tests.The console shall display an error message tothe operator should the software malfunctionor be corrupted.ElectricalThe console shall operate from a single-phasesupply of 100 volts to 240 volts AC ±10%,with a supply frequency of 47 to 63 Hz.The console shall not draw more than 50 wattsof power from a normal GPO. The power inletshall be a switched and filtered IEC mainssocket with integral fuse, and shall be locatedon the back panel of the console.The console power supply shall be auniversal-type switched mode supplyrequiring no changing of internal links toaccommodate different supply voltages.MechanicalThe console shall be designed to be freestanding.The console shall be 1500mm wide 530mmdeep 110mm high.The console shall be constructed of 1.2mmsteel, and shall be provided with a removable1.2mm aluminium base for access to internalelectronics.
