The Agencyfor Persons with Disabilities (<strong>APD</strong>) hasrenovated the park to provide persons withdisabilities and their families a place forrelaxation and recreation.The park’s 23-acre landscape is filledwith assorted flowers, crape myrtle, andmagnolia trees. Its improvements providefull accessibility to the park’s amenities,providing people with disabilities theopportunity to enjoy social activities withtheir families. Three pavilions are availablefor meetings and picnics. Grills arelocated at each pavilion for cookouts. Anaccessible bath house is availablefor guests.Round Pen Bayougives naturelovers a place forobserving wildlifein a serene setting.Cypress, cedar,and loblolly pinetrees abound. Families can stroll on naturetrails and a boardwalk trail as blue jaysand cardinals perch on branches nearby. Afishing pier provides another enticing optionfor recreation.Using the <strong>Park</strong>Florida residents with disabilities, theirfamilies, and caregivers can enjoy <strong>Hawkins</strong><strong>Recreational</strong> <strong>Park</strong> at no charge. The parkis open year round.
