Its nature, scope, and history willbe found summarized in the introduction and givenfully in the rest of the book. He is persuaded that toknow that devotion is to love it, and therefore he be-lieves that all who read what he has written upon it willendeavour to advance it. For this, every one can dosomething. The Pastors of God's people can do much.There are at their disposal the means given by theChurch, which are explained in separate chapters.The Feast, the Proper Mass and Office, the dedicationof churches, oratories, and chapels, are all calculatedto bring the devotion and its many indulgences underthe notice of those committed to their keeping.
