And this willbe done for nations and individuals by the gift ofGood Counsel so characteristic of the Virgin Motherof God, and which She is specially empowered togrant by the inscrutable and merciful designs of Him,Who wills, as many holy doctors distinctly teach,that all grace and salvation should come to usthrough Mary.11. The writer, therefore, feels that by bringingdevotion to the Virgin Mother of Good Counsel - adevotion which he knows to have effected much alreadyin Italy - under the notice of his brethren who speakthe English language, he will do a work beneficialto them, and, he humbly trusts, acceptable to Her,Whom he knows they-love tenderly.
