Crosslinking the polymer in this way increasesits resistance to loads generated by internalpressure and high temperatures. A furtherexplanation of cross linking and the electronbeam method can be found later in this guide.A continuous longitudinal butt welded jointis used to form the aluminium into a tubularreinforcing layer. This type of weld ensuresan even wall thickness distribution, not onlyin the aluminium, but in all the layers aroundthe pipe circumference. As a result, pressingloads are also evenly distributed which in turnprovides a consistent sealing condition in thepressed joint.The different layers are bonded to each otherusing a high quality adhesive.
