Rules of Standardbred RacingHighlights Pertaining to OSSRule 11.02.01(Qualifying Times)If a horse meets the conditions of Rule 11.01 it will beconsidered qualified and eligible to be declared to addedmoney event races provided it has obtained a clean charted linein a purse, qualifying or schooling race, not more than forty-five(45) clear days before the closing of declarations and itsindividual time in any one of its last three charted lines, notmore than 45 clear days before the closing of declarations,meets the following standards for age and the size of the trackwhere it raced or qualified after the judges have givenappropriate allowances for track conditions on that day:Age & GaitTrack SizeHalf Mile 5/8 & 7/8 Mile2 Year Old Pacers 2:04 2:022 Year Old Trotters 2:12 2:093 Year Old Pacers 2:02 2:003 Year Old Trotters 2:07 2:04Rule 11.02.02Notwithstanding the provisions of 11.02 no horse shall beconsidered qualified and eligible to be declared to added moneyevent races if that horse, since having obtained the clean chartedline referred to in 11.02.01, is required to qualify in accordancewith the rules, including Chapter 12 where applicable, or is on thejudges’ list or is otherwise ineligible to race.Rule 12.09A horse making a break in or off a qualifying, matinee orschooling race must qualify again unless the break was anequipment break or caused by interference or unless the horseis declaring into an <strong>Ontario</strong> <strong>Sires</strong> <strong>Stakes</strong> event or other addedmoney event.Rule 12.10.01A horse making a break in each of two consecutive races mustqualify unless the breaks were equipment breaks or caused byinterference.Rule 12.10.02A horse making a break off a qualifier or its second consecutivebreak in a row in an elimination heat will be allowed to race inthe Final.Any questions or inquiries concerning the Rules ofStandardbred Racing should be directed to the <strong>Ontario</strong> RacingCommission at (416) 213-0520 or faxed to (416) 213-7827.14 <strong>2006</strong> OSS Racing Guide
