Santa Claus <strong>Parade</strong>Rules & RegulationsFor the safety and enjoyment of both participants and spectators, all parade entry participants must complywith the following.1. The parade application form and waiver form, stating insurance, must be completed and returned to theLeduc Regional Chamber of Commerce, 6420-50 Street, Leduc, Alberta T9E 7K9.Phone 780.986.5454 | Fax 780.986.8108 | E-mail info@leduc-chamber.com2. The marshaling area is on 47 St., north of 50 Ave. to 54 Ave. Entries should report to the marshaling areabetween 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm and register upon entering with the <strong>Parade</strong> Marshall or designate from the<strong>Parade</strong> Committee. Please note that 47 St. will not be closed to traffic until 6:00 pm. If your entry arrivesbefore 6:00 p.m. to register, please find an alternate location to park until you are assigned a parade positionand moved into the line up on 47 St. at 6:00 pm.3. The <strong>Parade</strong> starts at 7:00 p.m.4. The parade route runs from the intersection of 50 Avenue and 47 Street, with the parade route going Weston 50 Ave. to 50 St., turning South on 50 St. to 47 Ave., and dispersing east on 47 Ave. where some entries mayreturn to 47 St. North of 50 St.5. Entries should not exceed 12 feet in height, and should be tastefully decorated in a festive theme, with floatentries to be lit with Christmas lights and play Christmas music or seasonal music. Remember it is dark, so makesure your entry is easily visible. No live Santa is to be included in your entry.6. Adequate supervision of children and youth should be provided, prior to and during the parade. (Suggested:one adult to 8 children.) Any animals included in an entry are to be kept on a short leash and be controlled bythe handler at all times. Animals are not allowed to roam into the crowds gathered to watch the parade.7. Proper protective equipment, such as helmets, should be worn for rollerblading, biking, skate boarding,motorcycles and all off-highway vehicles. Towing by any motor vehicle of any person rollerblading, biking,skate boarding, or operating a motorcycle or off-highway vehicle will not be allowed.8. The blowing of horns, sirens and playing loud music will be allowed only on the parade route, but not in themarshaling area. Amplified music must be kept at a reasonable level. The <strong>Parade</strong> Committee will determineacceptable noise level.9. Distribution of candy or other treats, gifts, merchandise, literature or other material along the paraderoute from any parade entry is not allowed and is strictly prohibited. Entries violating this rule will beremoved from the parade by the <strong>Parade</strong> Marshall or designate from the <strong>Parade</strong> Committee.10. Smoking is not allowed on any parade entry or near any motorized entry.11. Any towing or related expenses as a result of mechanical failures or other breakdowns shall be borne byparade entrant.12. The Applicant will assume all liability relating to or arising from his involvement in the Leduc Santa Claus<strong>Parade</strong>. The applicant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Leduc Regional Chamber of Commerce, the<strong>Parade</strong> Committee and the City of Leduc of any claims, actions or causes arising from his or her participation.The proof of insurance provided with your <strong>Parade</strong> application, indicating that the Leduc Regional Chamber of


Commerce and the City of Leduc are named as additional insured under your public liability policy, must becompleted and remitted to the Leduc Regional Chamber Of Commerce.13. Once you have entered onto the parade route, you must complete the route—unless the <strong>Parade</strong> Marshallor designate from the <strong>Parade</strong> Committee removes an entry or unless the parade is cancelled due to inclementweather or other unforeseen circumstances.Please retain these rules for the float operator or other person/s responsible for the parade entry.
