Masters in Business Administration – CCT111 Course Overview A Masters in Business Administration degree programme, is an internationally recognised one and is perceived in the global market as the passport to a successful managerial career. This MBA programme is comprised of industry relevant subjects, which have been designed by global industry leaders. The modern business enterprise is in constant transformation as it responds to technological innovations linking local communities to the global marketplace. This MBA programme is an advanced degree designed to prepare and equip managers with the knowledge and competencies necessary to administer controllable forces within their organizations in order to adapt successfully to variables and changes in the uncontrollable environment. Practitioners develop skills for deciphering and forecasting external forces and in the process become effective leader-managers in the increasingly multicultural, multinational environment of the twentyfirst century. Course Audience The following are the minimum admission requirements for this programme: • a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Bachelors degree, preferably with some professional practice; Or • a qualification deemed equivalent to an Australian Advanced Diploma with at least 3 years relevant work experience; Or • a minimum of 3 years managerial experience deemed acceptable by AIBA and CCT • International applicants whose first language is not English must produce an official test score of an internationally recognised English Language proficiency testing system. The minimum English Language test score requirement for this course is 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Accreditation The Masters in Business Administration is listed on the Internationalisation Register of approved colleges and courses, hosted by the Irish Department of Education. This course is awarded by the Australian Institute of Business Administration, part of the Gibaran Learning Group. Duration / Commencement dates One academic year: 3 thirteen week semesters. Medical insurance for Non-EU nationals is compulsory and as part of the Irish Student Visa requirements and can be arranged by CCT for an additional fee of EUR160 for 12 months. Exit Points The flexibility of this MBA programme is enhanced by the various Exit Points / Additional Certification Stages of this programme: - Graduate Certificate in Management is obtained (after any 4 subjects, other than the final project are completed). - Graduate Diploma in Management is obtained (after any 8 subjects, other than the final project are completed).
City & Guilds International ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) – CCT118 Course Audience Any non-native English Language speaker, can improve their English Language skills in General or Intensive studies of English through the internationally recognised framework of City & Guilds English Language programmes. Course Overview The overall aim of this programme is to enhance and improve your English language skills, knowledge and competency in reading, writing, understanding, listening, and speaking English. This one year programme is recognised by the Irish Dept. of Education and Skills, and therefore globally recognised. This course can be delivered between 1 – 3 years, depending on your need for English language learning, and can serve as the perfect foundation for further and higher education and training through the English Language. City & Guilds Qualifications and Course streams International ESOL qualifications are delivered over six levels mapped to the Common European Framework: • Preliminary • Access • Achiever • Communicator • Expert • Mastery International ESOL Qualifications are intended for • Non-native speakers of English worldwide • Students learning English as part of their school or college curriculum • People needing English for their everyday or working life • Learners who require externally recognised certification of their levels in English • Learners attending short courses in English Assessment CCT will utilise a variety of assessment methods to help ensure that the learning outcomes of each subject will be achieved, for example: Written Examination compiled of long or short term essays, Objective Tests, Presentations, Group Projects, Practical Assignments, Oral Examinations and so on. Assessment will be continuous throughout each module . Mechanisms for giving and receiving feedback on learning progress CCT constantly encourages feedback from its learners in a formal and informal basis. Learners have an opportunity to give feedback on the college, programme, faculty, facilities, administration, student services and admissions and course induction through the following verification surveys: 1) Learner Verification survey; 2) Student Services and Support survey; and 3) Admissions and Course Induction survey. CCT constantly encourages feedback from its learners in a formal and informal basis. Learners also conduct an Ongoing Monitoring Review process with faculty and administration of the college once per semester. Accreditation This programme is awarded by City & Guilds. This programme is also included on the Irish Dept of Education & Science, Internationalisation Register, of approved full-time programmes in Ireland. Academic Progression Opportunities Successful graduates of this programme, will be eligible to progress directly onto the FETAC foundation and certificate programmes and HETAC Level 6 Higher Certificate in Science in Computing in Information Technology at CCT, and will be considered for other Level 6 graduate progression opportunities in Ireland. Duration / Commencement dates One – Three academic years, depending on the EL language improvement requirement of the student, with commencement dates constantly throughout the year on a rolling basis.
