<strong>KU</strong> <strong>Windale</strong><strong>Preschool</strong>Frequently askedquestionsWhat age children does your centre cater for?<strong>KU</strong> <strong>Windale</strong> provides preschool services for children aged 2 to 5years.What hours do you operate?We operate from 9:00am - 3:00pm Monday to Friday, duringschool terms.Do you offer extended hours?Yes, short extended hours care is available by appointment withthe director between 8:30 - 9:00am and 3:00 - 3:30pm for anadditional fee.How many children are at your centre each day?We have 18 children on a Monday and a Wednesday, and 28children on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We have a highadult: child ratio which creates more opportunities to build onlearning outcomes for all children.Is food provided?No, we ask parents to provide fruit for morning tea which is thenis then cut up and shared amongst the children. Families mustalso provide a healthy and nutritious lunch. Please note we try todiscourage too many packaged foods.Do you offer a transition to school program?Yes, the staff have worked together to create a self designedtransition to school program that introduces children to earlyliteracy and numeracy concepts as well as preparing childrensocially and emotional for the transition to school.What should my child bring with them each day?Each child should bring a healthy lunch, morning tea and drinkbottle with water in a backpack they can manage themselves. Our Educators are made upof both university and tafe trained teachers with experiencein programming and supporting children with additionalneeds.<strong>KU</strong> <strong>Windale</strong>’s educational program is guided by the EarlyYears Learning Framework (2009) and the Reggio Emiliaapproach to education.
