<strong>Meet</strong> <strong>Our</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>SIL</strong> <strong>Staff</strong> <strong>Member</strong>, <strong>Katie</strong> <strong>Burke</strong>!<br />

Specialist, Student Involvement and Leadership<br />

<strong>Katie</strong> originally began her work with Student Affairs as Director<br />

of the Graduate Student Association in 2008. After obtaining<br />

her Master’s degree in Communication and Multimedia<br />

Studies from FAU and experience with both the hospitality and<br />

legal fields, she has returned to her passion, higher education.<br />

<strong>Katie</strong> has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and<br />

Political Science from <strong>Florida</strong> <strong>Atlantic</strong> University. In addition<br />

to working with student organizations, <strong>Katie</strong>’s higher education<br />

background experience includes the areas of organizational<br />

and leadership advancement, the Council of Student Organizations,<br />

A & S Fee and Travel Committees, new graduate student<br />

orientations, Greek Life and more. Most of all, <strong>Katie</strong> enjoys her<br />

current role as Advisor of the Council of Student Organizations<br />

and assisting student organizations with their development, registration, fiscal management,<br />

advisor relationships and event planning.<br />
